i have no idea where to start?
i recently bought my first car and i plan on customizing it bit-by-bit. i think that im going to start with a stereo, then get the windows tinted darker, (maybe) black rims and then a spoiler (just a small one- the factory kind.)
ok, im starting with the stereo. i have NO IDEA of what to get. i want something that has some power but my car is small so i don’t want to over do it.
could you lead me in the right direction.
(in terms of the actual stereo, the speakers, amp, subs, etc.)
btw, its a 2005 civic coupe. it looks like this:

Get a Pioneer, and order it from Cardomain.com. I got mine there for $20 less than it was sold for at circuit city or best buy. The ones around $160 are pretty good, not the top of the line, but probably rank around the middle. If you want new speakers you can get them from the website too or bestbuy sells them for decent prices. Window Tint is TOTALLY worth it. I got mine for $240, and it is 5% (the darkest you can get legally). Rims will be expensive, and a factory spoiler probably around $200, but painting it will cost a lot. I was going to get a spoiler for my honda accord but it wasn’t worth it to paint and match the color. Good luck, and if you need any advice email me at.

well first off, this is your car do what you want, but if u want some quality things, kenwood jvc pioneer and eclipse alpine are all very good stereos, speakers and subs, kicker, hifonics, jl. things along these lines are great. in all honestly if you can buy it @ walmart, pick another brand. and with the amp, same lines kicker hifonics etc etc. i great place to start is great prices. good luck

Your driving a nice car, so if your going to put after marker stuff in it why not spend a little more money and do it right. Pioneer dont get me wrong is alright, but dont always look for the cheapest best deal if you want true quality, like anything in life, clothes, cars, houses quality come with a price, i would recommened if you going bit by bit to start with the head unit of the stereo, I have owned a kenwood, blaunplunkt and today i just had an eclipse deck installed, its amazing looks great with great features keep in mind what you want the deck to do, mine has ipod cord which was a need, nice display and 8v preouts to my amp. As well keep in mind what you plan on doing to the stereo in the future if you want amps installed you need preouts, so on.
First thing is first, find a deck you want that does what you want it to do!
My deck was 700 without install, but thats because its featured to what i need, you could get away with aabout 450 for a nice deck that has the preouts and ipod ready and all that jazz

Aside from the power you want in a stereo,be sure and look for a good DESIGN! Some of the ones they make today have tiny on and off switches, little buttons for options, and horrible LED readout that you can’t see unless you’re one inch away and looking at a certain angle. Get something that you can easily SEE and easily CONTROL as you are driving or you’re gonna kill yourself trying to find a channel or adjust the volume.

OK everyone has their own idea about head unit. i like Pioneer but **** Kenwood and Alpine BUT i dont listen or mes with the radio much.
Head unit is pretty much preference. Get what YOU want not what everyone else says to get. Go to some of the audio shops and play with their head-units that are power on display and see what you like. Even Wal-Mart has the units you can play with. Everyone like different bells and whistles plus you need to choose on ergonomics, whats best for YOU to navigate. you can also go to the head-unit makers site and alot will let you or show you everything about there units.
Get what YOU want but dont buy cheap. if you dont have much money, buy inexpensive. So in other words dont buy the $100 head-unit, I promise, you will be disappointed. Like i said go to the audio shops and buy NAME BRAND this way you know someone will stand by their warranty.
Like i said “Its all preference”

I know your really looking forward to “pimping” your ride, but i can say save your money. Just get you some nice rims and tires and a nice stereo such as Alpine or Panasonic, some good doors and a nice set of 6×9’s in the back. Leave it at that.
When it comes to doing anything body related you in for a treat, getting colors to match and getting the correct body lines. Its really a pain in the ****. I have had my 01 honda civic since 02 lol. Spent about 40G on it and im still not happy lol. I should have just invested in a better car to begin with lol.
Anyways take my advice for what its worth.
